Kylah's Computer Story

Kylah wrote a great story on the computer about Ben's tooth. She remembered to do lots of things that good writers do and that we are trying to do too...use capital letters and full stops, spaces between words, talking marks, and stretching out words and writing the sounds we can hear. How tall are we?

Here are all the children in Room 19. Who is tall? Who is short? Who is taller? Who is shorter? Who is the tallest? Who is the shortest? Who is the same height as you?

Measuring

We are learning about how long, or tall, or wide things are. We made some special measuring sticks from long straws. Look at us measuring...

We had a group of lovely young people come to visit us and teach us some traditional Maori games.

We learned some string games and played knucklebones.

Michael's Adventure

Michael and his family spent Saturday up at Boundary Stream where DOC had big project to relocate 106 Cooks Petrel chicks from Little Barrier Island. Michael and  his big sister Olivia were able to help move the chicks into their new burrows up in the hills. More than 200 years ago the Cooks Petrels did live up in the hills and this is the first project in NZ to bring them back.

Kids on Summer Holiday

 Cameron is looking at the Huka Falls, near Taupo. He was amazed by the loud sound of the water rushing over the falls.

Cam is rafting on the Ngaruroro River with his dad, brother and friends...how exciting!
